First Congregational of Falmouth: The Church & Climate Change

The video below is from a forum on the church and climate change organized by First Congregational Church of Falmouth, MA on March 18, 2018. The forum began with brief presentations by three climate scientists from Woods Hole. Then Jim offered a theological and ethical response that addressed the following questions:

  1.  What are the broad ethical issues raised by the evidence on climate change?

  2. What are the faith-based considerations--Christian teachings, in particular--that call upon us to take action to address climate change?

  3. What forms of action are most appropriate for local houses of worship to take?

  4. How do you respond to differing views on the need for such actions?
